Working With Kiwanis

Rosemary Olsen, Richard Hall, Ron Bieber, Karen Tenke.

Glen Cove Kiwanis members have done several homeless dinners this winter at the First Presbyterian Church in Glen Cove, which hosts the North Shore Sheltering Program from Thanksgiving to the end of March.

At the program, homeless men are given food and shelter every evening from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. They also are examined by a nurse, given supper and light breakfast and shuttled to La Fuerza Unida on Sea Cliff Ave. in the morning where classes are taught on English and computer skills, and where day labor pickups are made.

Members of Kiwanis cooked a variety of meals and desserts and served the group of men.
