Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton: West Nile Spraying Possible

Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton encourages residents to stay informed on a possible pesticide spraying in the Bayville area. DeRiggi-Whitton’s 18th LD office was informed by Department of Health (DOH) officials that West Nile Virus has been discovered in a county trap near the “Poseidon” property.

“I was told that Bayville’s situation was not urgent. The type of mosquito carrying the virus is at the end of its natural life cycle right now,” said Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton. “The county is analyzing the situation right now. Residents will be alerted if the DOH finds it necessary to spray.”
