Delia is grateful for the support of Wayne Wink, who is running for Town Clerk in North Hempstead.

As a result of Nassau County redistricting, Delia is running in a new 11th LD, which includes Port Washington, Roslyn, Roslyn Harbor, Sea Cliff, Glen Head/Glenwood and Glen Cove.

Beloved Nassau County Wayne Wink has been serving in the 11th LD since March of 2007. He has decided to run for Town Clerk in the Town of North Hempstead. SUPPORT WAYNE at his site, http://www.waynewink.com/.

Delia is honored to have the support of Wink, who has a long history of public service, in his area. Wayne previously served for more than five years as a Town of North Hempstead Councilman. Additionally, Wayne served as Legislative Aide and Chief of Staff to the late Barbara Johnson, who was the 11th District legislator from the inception of the Legislature until her death in April 2000. Wink also served as the Deputy Counsel to the County Legislature’s Democrats from 1997-1999.

“Wayne is a model elected official,” said Delia DeRiggi-Whitton. “He is educated, knowledgeable and eloquent. He works extremely hard for his constituents and stands up for their interests. Wayne is a true statesman and we’d be a lot better off if all politicians modeled their service to the public on Wayne Wink. I know the Town of North Hempstead will be very lucky when Wayne Wink is elected the next Town Clerk this November 5.”

Wink said of Delia: “Having worked with Delia as colleagues in the Nassau County Legislature, I respect her integrity and commitment to good government. I feel good knowing that Delia will be taking up the position I have worked so hard at for so many years, serving as your 11th LD Legislator. I know she will take care of the area I love and she’ll work hard to show you the same level of dedication that I have.”
