Leg. DeRiggi-Whitton Speaks at LI Job Expo for Disabled Adults.

Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton participated in a Long Island job expo held at Farmingdale State College on Friday, January 31. The expo enables job seekers living in Nassau and Suffolk County residents with autism and other disabilities and veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury to meet with top Long Island employers.

The expo was presented by Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE), with workshops covering topics that help prospective employees prepare for interviews and inform prospective employers on the benefits of hiring disabled employees.

“It was so fulfilling to participate in an event that is so life-enriching for adults who are disabled, but will certainly become very valuable employees,” Leg. DeRiggi-Whitton said. “This level of social responsibility is highly commendable and I thank FREE for asking me to participate and for organizing such an important event.”IMG_2220IMG_2239
