Sea Cliff Installs Sewer Line in Business District.

Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton joined U.S. Congressman Steve Israel, NY State Assemblyman Charles Levine and Sea Cliff Mayor Bruce Kennedy among other representatives of Sea Cliff at the groundbreaking ceremony for the sewer line that will run along Sea Cliff Avenue from Main Street to Prospect Avenue.

This sewer line will allows the businesses in this area to convert from septic to sewered systems and will link to Sea Cliff’s only existing sewer line. The line will connect to the Glen Cove sewer system and treatment plant, currently being operated by the County. The goal of this project is twofold: to end the pollution that seeps from the septic tanks through the ground into Hempstead Harbor and contaminates our drinking water, and to enable to the business district to expand and, therefore, better thrive.

Working closely with Mayor Kennedy, Assemblyman Levine and U.S. Congressman Steve Israel, Delia was tenacious in her mission to secure funding and liaise with the various levels of government needed to get the project approved and funded.israelseacliff
