Press Conference - February 18, 2026

February 18, 2026

The County must comply with the courts instead of continuing to defend fees that have already been deemed excessive.
Instead of spending taxpayer dollars fighting to preserve a broken fee system, we should be fixing it. This legislation restores fairness and puts Nassau residents first. I am proud to stand behind this legislation and put money back in our neighbors’ pockets.

Inauguration Day

January 9, 2026

Yesterday’s installation was an event that I will always hold close to my heart. Having both of my parents attend with my Dad preforming my Oath of office for Nassau County Legislator and Minority Leader, and my husband holding our family bible. Feeling very grateful and blessed ????❤️2026 01 07 Mason 1845 Peter Budraitis Photo

Proud to stand with my colleague Legislator Seth Koslow as he introduces legislation that will address the lack of oversight regarding the use of County cars.

2025 08 14 Tampering"If you shredded 40 containers of documents ... you’re not protecting the public. You’re hiding from them," Delia DeRiggi-Whitton - Nassau County Legislator said.

DeRiggi-Whitton and other Democrats repeated their call to the Nassau's District Attorney, plus state and federal law enforcement, to launch a criminal investigation, adding Ryan should be investigated for "tampering with evidence." Newsday

L.I. Herald Op-Ed

Februrary 26, 2026

2025 02 26 Article

For #ThrowbackThursday, I wanted to reflect on my recent op-ed in the L.I. Herald regarding the insertion of political motives into governance here in Nassau County, specifically as it pertains to contracts doled out by this County Executive to politically connected outside legal firms. My colleagues on the other side of the aisle have, in my view, been grievously remiss in our duty as Legislators to scrutinize the necessity of these expensive contracts, at the taxpayers expense.

Glen Cove Senior Center Celebrates February Birthdays

February 22, 2025

On Friday, we celebrated Glen Cove’s February birthdays at the monthly Glen Cove Senior Center birthday celebration. I was humbled and honored to have my birthday celebrated as well, and it was amazing to get to celebrate in the company of some of my neighbors who I’ve grown to call friends.

I’ve been very proud to celebrate birthdays at the Glen Cove senior center every month for nearly two decades. I started this monthly celebration when I served on the Glen Cove City Council, and I have been immensely privileged to continue to be able to this wholesome and rewarding tradition as Nassau County Legislator. Being among my neighbors so consistently is a great reminder of the value of the work I am so humbled to be able to do on behalf of my neighbors. To all of my fellow February birthdays, the shortest month of the year is also the sweetest, so enjoy the rest of your birthday month!2025 02 20 GC Birthdays 2174 Peter Budraitis Photo

Plant A Row for th Hungry

February 4, 2026

I joined Plant A Row for the Hungry, Port Washington for their annual garden exhibit display.

I was very proud this past summer to secure Plant a Row $50,000 in federal ARPA grant money to help support the great work they do. This exhibit is proof positive of how deserving this organization, led by the great Marv Makofsky, has been with their tireless dedication to helping serve the people in our community who rely on their assistance.

It is always a pleasure to see Plant a Row thrive, and I am very proud to always stand in support of them and their hard work!

102nd Birthday!!!

 February 4, 2026

I was happy to be a part of the celebrations for the 102nd birthday of Port Washington’s Anna Cacaccio at the PW Senior Center! Her energy and spirit is enviable, and the community built at the Port Washington Adult Activities Center is an incredible asset to allow our seniors the opportunity to have a space to socialize and enjoy their retirement amongst good company. Happy birthday to Anna, and to many more! ????????

2026 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

January 19, 2026
Always so meaningful to commemorate #MartinLutherKingDay by marching through #GlenCove to kick off a day of remembrance and service.
Thank you to Cheryl Goodine and the entire Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission, First Baptist Church Glen Cove, Glen Cove City Schools, City Hall, and the hundreds who made this 42nd annual observance so profound. May each of us recommit ourselves to fulfilling his dream of equality and justice for all.

Bob Praver Turns 100!

October 26, 2025
2025 10 26 BirthdayHappy 100th birthday to the incomparable Bob Praver - a true pillar of #GlenCove!
He's a World War II veteran, a tireless community advocate who spearheaded the renovation and redesign of the Children's Memorial Garden of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County, and an outstanding writer and editor who puts the final look at all of my newsletters and op-eds before they go out.
Bob inspires all of us, and I wish him many happy, healthy returns on this amazing milestone!
