(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) received an update on Monday, July 30 from Sea Cliff Mayor Edward Lieberman (seated), Village Administrator Bruce Kennedy, and representatives from Nassau County’s Department of Public Works related to ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects in the Village.

Sea Cliff MeetingPictured, Kennedy describes plans for a gravity sewer line that will connect existing pipes near the intersection of Prospect Street and Summit Avenue to the Glen Cove Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project is currently in the design stage and is slated to be funded through a combination of $3.3 million in state grants and $4 million in Nassau County bonds.

“Installing this sewer line will not only bring Sea Cliff’s commercial district onto the sewer system, it also stands to reduce environmental impacts on the Long Island Sound and set the stage for transitioning more residents off of cesspools in future expansions,” Legislator DeRiggi-Whitton said.
